"I'm not a concept. Too many guys think I'm a concept or I complete them or I'm going to make them alive, but I'm just a girl who is looking for my own peace of mind. Don't assign me yours."

Ok, so on Thursday, my school had the Junior Auction. Where an student or administrator may bid on a class of 2006 student, and the winner receives the student as their slave for the following day. I decided to have a little fun with my friend Phill. . . Here are the pics.

glitches galore
| 4:47 PM | Allegri
Ok, so you all have a view of what I have been slowly (but surely) working on over the last few weeks. And Oh, I know that there are hundreds of errors in my html, and the fact that Internet Explorer does not want to display everything correctly. So if you are browsing the site and catch an error, or anything that does not show up correctly, please leave a comment. Over the next few days I should have all the glitches fixed.

The Da Vinci Code
Thursday, February 24, 2005 | 11:14 PM | Allegri
Dan Brown wonderfully created his own "sphere of influence" through his writing of The Da Vinci Code, mostly affecting Christians, but also non-Christians alike. Dan Brown masterfully creates an edge-of-your-seat thriller, by using an international murder mystery, and the entire base of Western Theology, along with secret societies, and hidden documents that could destroy the base of modern Christianity. Dan Brown fused all of these together in his elucide form of writing that not only causes the reader think and predict the possible pathways towards the ending, but he also challenges the reader to look at their own faith and to test it along the way. He uses the murder of a high profile French citizen as the prop for the story, who has a hidden secret, much like the ones in the cryptographs that he used to play with his granddaughter Sophie Neveu. Moments before the man's death he leaves gruesome clues at the scene, that he knows that his granddaughter Sophie Neveu, and Robert Langdon; a famed symbologist, could solve. The two soon become suspects in the case as they work together to try and figure out what the clues mean . . . Taking paths to find out the truth in the characters lives and the truth for the world.
Although the book does probe some elucide and pure heretical theories, towards the origin of the Bible and the Truth behind it. It poses some quite intriguing thoughts about the subject though. My thoughts on this was, it does take some "serious shots at our faith" but if we can not stand up to a book that pushes us to truly investigate what we believe, how to can we expect to stand up to other people when they try to push us in the same way? Reading this book really makes me examine my faith and weed out the truth from superstition...

. . . and their going to disneyworld
Sunday, February 06, 2005 | 11:01 PM | Allegri
The XXIX Superbowl game has ended, the Jacksonville stadium is closed, the fans have all gone home and tucked themselves into bed. And the nuisance of a team, New England Patriots are on a plane with their families to Disneyworld. Once again the New England has brought one more deserving team to shame, first the Pittsburgh Steelers, and now the Philadelphia Eagles. The game ended with:
Patriots 24
Eagles 21
Apparently, the Eagles team leaders; Donovan McNabb, Brian Westbrook, Terrell Owens, were not quite tough enough to take on the Patriots leaders; Tom Brady, Corey Dillon, Deion Branch. The Eagles fought it out from their tie that began in the beginning of the second quarter with seven, then in the third it hit at fourteen, and lasted until about halfway through the fourth when the Patriots charged in and took up ten points whereas the Eagles were only able to pull off seven more points still leaving them three points in below the tie. Now as long as next year, any one of the following makes it into the next "bowl" I will be very happy: Green Bay Packers (Go Cheeseheads!!!), Minnesota Vikings, or the Denver Boncos.

Another captured G.I. . . . Joe?
Thursday, February 03, 2005 | 5:45 PM | Allegri
Isn't it sad that the Islamic terrorist groups now have to rely on G.I. Joes to get what they want? Either the U.S. troops are getting better at not getting captured or these lunatics are just getting sloppy. All of the military troops in Baghdad were able to report in that all of their soldiers were accounted for. At least the company that makes these action figures were able to spot their own work, and call the insurgents on there bluff.

The Ipod factor: renting tunes. . .
| 4:36 PM | Allegri
Apple's rival companies, Napster and F.Y.E., are in the process of making a "Portable Music Rental Service", Napster plans o turn up the heat on Apple with a $30 million advertising campaign debuting during Sunday's Super Bowl to promote a relaunch of its portable subscription service, dubbed Napster To Go.
How music fans answer that question in coming months will help determine the viability of a new slate of online music services that offer to fill portable music players with an unlimited number of songs for a monthly fee.
How they market these devices will be a crucial part to there survival, or downfall, they need to be able to persuade consumers that are accustomed to buying CDs, or digital tracks purchased via the internet to switch to paying a monthly fee and acquiring an unlimited amount of songs for there rental time period. After there rental period is up, the device automatically dumps all of the songs on the hard drive and the ones on there computer to be sure that the songs are not used anymore.
The problem is that in the current state of the market, vendors at best have been offering technical equivalents of the iPod, and the iPod itself has transcended from a consumer electronics item to cultural icon.
The only companies providing this service is Napster and F.Y.E. who's monthly subscriptions are both priced at $14.95... Click here to read the full story
